Solholistic was set up in 2002 when Sharon Bates moved to the Costa Blanca with husband Martin. Finding Sella nestled in the Aitana mountains was the ideal setting for holistic therapies especially for visitors to the area. Sella is such a beautiful village filled with calm. Its calmness dominated by the amazing views provides the ideal setting for therapies allowing total tranquility.

Having an interest in herbs as a child and knowing of their therapeutic benefits I decided to study aromatherapy which included using oils from these herbs for health. It was in the early 1990’s when my father had a stroke that affected the right side of his body affecting him physically and mentally that encouraged my decision.

I studied and attained my diploma in aromatherapy at The Shirley Price International School of Aromatherapy which included doing a further diploma in Anatomy and Physiology. This provided me with an in depth understanding of how the body works in relation to health, sickness and disease. I was then able to help my father deal with the emotional and physical aspects. Oils used in the Aromatherapy massage which by nature are relaxing and pain relieving, coupled with relaxation music, enabled my father to deeply relax and encouraged circulation into his very stiff muscles, which allowed better movement making him feel mentally much better. As a therapist results like this are very rewarding.

My enthusiasm and confidence in complementary therapies encouraged me to do further training in Reflexology, Nutritional Advice, Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Hot/Cold Stone Massage, Holistic Facial and Lymphatic Drainage. Combined these therapies provide the ideal holistic approach. I regularly attend courses so that I can offer the latest techniques to my clients.

People from all nationalities visit and as a result I have built up a good client base.
I have worked purely on recommendation which has kept me busy throughout the seasons. I hope you can come and visit sometime.
